12 must-see musicals to book this Spring Spectacular

Spring has sprung, and so has one of the best deals in theatreland! Our Spring Spectacular is back, meaning you can snag tickets to some of the hottest West End shows at up to 50% off, with prices starting at just £15.

And trust us, we’ve got something for everyone - whether you fancy hopping aboard a high-speed train (Starlight Express), setting sail on an unsinkable ship (Titanique), or zooming back to the future in a flux-capacitor-powered DeLorean (Back to the Future).

We’ve got the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll (Tina) and Broadway smash-hits continuing their reign in London (The Great Gatsby). Classic revivals (Oliver!), and even a nanny saying "Toodle-loo, poppets!" for the last time (Mrs. Doubtfire the Musical).

With so much to choose from, here are the top musicals you need to book before they disappear faster than a theatre ice cream in a heatwave…

The Book of Mormon | Pay no fees

Hailed as one of the funniest musicals of all time, The Book of Mormon is an outrageous, laugh-out-loud, shockingly clever satire from the creators of South Park and the minds behind Avenue Q. The story follows Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, two young Mormon missionaries sent from Salt Lake City to Uganda, where they’re tasked with converting locals to their faith. But the villagers are more concerned about warlords, poverty, and disease than religion - forcing the hapless missionaries to get creative (and increasingly ridiculous) with their teachings.

Since its 2011 Broadway debut, the show has won nine Tony Awards and four Olivier’s, including Best New Musical, and continues to sell out in the West End. Packed with unforgettable songs, rapid-fire jokes, and just the right amount of heart, The Book of Mormon is not for the easily offended - but perfect for anyone who loves comedy that pushes boundaries.

The Great Gatsby | Save up to 42%

Get ready for champagne-soaked decadence as the award-winning Broadway musical The Great Gatsby finally arrives in the West End on 11 April. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel, this much-loved musical transports you straight to the heart of the Roaring Twenties, where the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby throws extravagant parties in the hopes of reuniting with his lost love, Daisy Buchanan. As Gatsby’s carefully curated world starts to crumble, secrets, heartbreak, and scandal unfold in this sumptuously staged production.

Featuring a spellbinding jazz-infused score, dazzling period costumes, and an unforgettable atmosphere, The Great Gatsby has already wowed audiences on Broadway and is set to be the most glamorous new show in town.

Mean Girls | Save up to 41%

It’s time to fetch your pink outfits and head to the West End before Mean Girls closes on 8 June! Based on the 2004 cult classic film, this high-energy, laugh-out-loud musical follows Cady Heron, a teenager who moves from Africa to an American high school - only to find herself caught in a battle with the school’s ultimate clique, The Plastics. As Cady gets sucked into their world, she must decide whether she’ll stay true to herself or become just as mean as the girls she’s trying to defeat.

With a hilarious book by Tina Fey, an infectiously fun pop score, and dazzling choreography, this show has been a West End favourite - but this is your last chance to see it before you can no longer sit with them.

Back to the Future the Musical | Special prices

Buckle up, time-travelers! Based on the iconic 1985 film, Back to the Future: The Musical takes you on a high-voltage adventure with Marty McFly and Doc Brown as they accidentally travel back to 1955. With the future at stake, Marty must navigate high school romance, awkward family drama, and the terrifying Biff Tannen, all while trying to get back to 1985 before time runs out.

Featuring jaw-dropping stage effects (including a flying DeLorean!), a thrilling 80s-inspired score, and all your favourite moments from the film, this musical is a nostalgic, high-energy spectacle.

Clueless the Musical | Great seats from £55

Like, oh my god! Clueless: The Musical brings the beloved 1995 teen comedy to the stage in a totally rad, high-fashion spectacle. Follow Cher Horowitz, Beverly Hills’ most stylish and well-meaning matchmaker, as she navigates high school, love, and a major makeover—both for her friends and herself. But when her perfectly planned world starts to unravel (ugh, as if!), Cher has to rethink what it really means to be “totally perfect.”

Packed with ‘90s nostalgia, hilarious one-liners, and reimagined pop hits from the era, this musical is a must-see for fans of the film. Written by Clueless creator Amy Heckerling, the show stays true to the movie’s witty charm while adding fresh musical numbers that will have you bopping in your seat. Get ready for a nostalgic, laugh-out-loud ride through Beverly Hills - just don’t forget to RSVP.

Mrs Doubtfire the Musical | Great seats from £39.50

This heartwarming comedy is saying “Toodle-loo, poppets!” as it prepares to leave the West End on 26 April. Based on the 1993 Robin Williams film, Mrs. Doubtfire follows Daniel Hillard, a struggling actor who disguises himself as a Scottish nanny in a desperate attempt to spend time with his children after a messy divorce. As he juggles his double life, Daniel quickly learns that being Mrs. Doubtfire is harder than it looks!

With hysterical quick-changes, heartfelt moments, and a show-stopping lead performance, this feel-good musical is perfect for families and fans of the original film.

Say Hello to The Book of Mormon characters

The Book of Mormon is a Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical created by South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone, alongside Robert Lopez, the co-songwriter of Avenue Q and Frozen

Premiering in 2011, the show has since taken Broadway and the West End by storm, known for its satirical humour, catchy songs, and surprisingly heartfelt moments. The story follows two mismatched Mormon missionaries, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, as they are sent to Uganda to spread the teachings of their faith - only to discover that their mission is far more challenging than they expected.

Packed with witty lyrics, social commentary, and a lot of irreverence, The Book of Mormon remains one of the most popular musicals of the 21st century. So, let's say ‘Hello’ to The Book of Mormon characters!

Meet The Book of Mormon Characters

Elder Kevin Price

Elder Price is the picture-perfect Mormon missionary - ambitious, confident, and determined to make a difference. He dreams of being sent to Orlando, Florida, but instead, he’s assigned to Uganda. Throughout the show, his faith is tested as he struggles with the challenges of his mission. His character arc is both comedic and inspiring, making him a standout lead in the musical.

Elder Arnold Cunningham

Elder Cunningham is Elder Price’s socially awkward and overly enthusiastic mission companion. He has a habit of embellishing the truth (or outright making things up) and struggles to stick to the actual teachings of the Book of Mormon. Despite his quirks, he proves to be a pivotal character, winning over the Ugandan villagers in unexpected ways. His journey from insecure outcast to hero is one of the musical’s highlights.

Nabulungi

Nabulungi is the optimistic and kind-hearted young woman who dreams of a better life outside her struggling village. She believes in the promises the missionaries bring and sees hope in their teachings. Her sincerity and determination make her a beloved character, even as she navigates the humorous misunderstandings caused by Elder Cunningham’s creative interpretations of the Book of Mormon.

Prince of Wales Theatre – Best seats and seating plan

Prince of Wales Theatre – Best seats and seating plan

Originally named Prince’s Theatre in 1884, the first production at the Prince of Wales Theatre was a comic opera called Dorothy, which became the longest-running production at the time. For much of its existence until it was reconstructed in 1937, The Prince of Wales staged a series of French-style revues, becoming known as London's Folies Bergère. It was not until the mid- 20th century that musicals played a dominant role in the theatre’s history once again.

What are the best seats in the Prince of Wales Theatre?

You can get good value seats towards the rear of both the stalls and circle, and in seats towards the ends of rows.

The middle of the Stalls offers an initimate experience, you're close enough to the action without being on top of it.

The Log box seats offer a unique experience, as they are secluded and private and are located on either side of the auditorium on Dress Circle level. This gives an excellent view of the stage.

The Dress Circle, with its steep rake, offers an unobstructed view of the whole stage. Perfect for big musical numbers.

Say Hello to the West End cast of The Book of Mormon

Say Hello to the West End cast of The Book of Mormon

Since its debut in 2013, The Book of Mormon, created by South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone along with Robert Lopez (Frozen, Avenue Q), has been the most popular shows on the West End. Known for its sharp wit, outrageous humour, and heartfelt storytelling, The Book of Mormon has entertained audiences with its unique take on religion, culture, and friendship. Over the years, the show has featured a talented lineup of actors in its key roles, and its current cast is no exception.

Meet the Current Cast

Who plays Elder Price in The Book of Mormon?

Leading the show as the ambitious and overconfident Elder Price is Blair Gibson. Elder Price is a missionary who dreams of being sent to Orlando but finds himself in Uganda instead. Like his character, Gibson is no stranger to touring - having played Bob Gaudio in the UK & Ireland tour of Jersey Boys. The Book of Mormon marks Gibson’s West End debut, but with his strong vocals and comedic timing, we are sure it won’t be the last West End show he stars in.

Who plays Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon?

Taking on the role of Elder Cunningham, the awkward yet lovable companion to Elder Price, is Conner Peirson. Peirson has played the role on multiple international tours, earning praise for his comedic brilliance and heartfelt performance. He also played another loveable loser, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. Elder Cunningham struggles with confidence and often exaggerates stories to make himself seem more interesting, a trait that Peirson delivers with charm and humour.

Who plays Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon?

Playing the role of Nabulungi, the hopeful and kind-hearted Ugandan local, is Paige Peddie.  Peddie’s stage credits include Ado Annie in the multi award-winning revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! Nala in Disney’s The Lion King and Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls. Peddie’s powerful vocals and emotional depth add sincerity to her portrayal of Nabulungi, who dreams of a better life and is initially captivated by the missionaries’ promises. Peddie’s moving performance and stage presence make her an audience favourite.

Who plays Elder McKinley in The Book of Mormon?

Colin Burnicle steps into the role of Elder McKinley, the enthusiastic yet deeply repressed missionary leader. Elder McKinley is known for his show-stopping number “Turn It Off,” which addresses his internal struggles in an increasingly manic way. Burnicle - a seasoned performer, whose previous shows include; The Play That Goes Wrong, Elf the Musical, Tammy Faye and The Sound of Music - perfectly captures the character’s mix of energy, charm, and inner turmoil, making his performance both hilarious and heartfelt.

Who plays Mafala Hatimbi in The Book of Mormon?

As Mafala Hatimbi, the protective father of Nabulungi, Ian Carlyle brings warmth and humour to the stage. Mafala serves as a guide to the missionaries, explaining life in Uganda while maintaining a skeptical view of their teachings. Carlyle’s strong stage CV (he’s starred in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Disney’s The Lion King, and We Will Rock You to name just a few) and comedic skills make him a perfect fit for the role, and his rendition of “Hasa Diga Eebowai” is a show highlight.

A Definitive Guide to The Book of Mormon Songs

The Book of Mormon is not for the faint-hearted. But for those with a wicked sense of humour, the shocking musical - currently playing at the Prince of Wales Theatre - has some of the most riotous jokes ever seen in the West End. But what about The Book Of Mormon musical songs? Discover more about the show and its musical numbers with our handy guide.

About The Book Of Mormon

From the creators of South Park (Matt Stone and Trey Parker) and Avenue Q (Robert Lopez) comes the cutting musical comedy about two Mormon missionaries who travel to Uganda hoping to recruit new members to the church. It opened on Broadway in 2011, winning nine Tony Awards before opening in the West End, where it won four Oliviers.

All of The Book Of Mormon songs in order

In total, there are 17 catchy numbers. With songs about Mormon practices, evil doughnuts, sexual orientation, war crimes, and atrocities, nothing's left off the table in the sardonic comedy. With songs sung by all the Book of Mormon characters, it’s a dense and hilarious experience. To help guide you through the extensive list of topics, here are The Book Of Mormon musical songs in detail.

The Book of Mormon Act One songs

Hello!

The opener and potentially the most well-known (and innocent) of The Book Of Mormon songs is 'Hello!'. The upbeat introduction features doorbells and multiple voices as the religious characters go door-to-door seeking converts. With clever yet simple layering, we experience our first tongue-in-cheek jokes while meeting one of our leads, Elder Cunningham.

Two by Two

Teaching the audience about Mormon practices and giving us an insight into the egotistic Elder Price, 'Two by Two' pair off the Mormon brothers as they’re assigned their missions. While others are sent to dream locations such as Japan and France, Elder Price wishes to visit Florida and is met with a reality check by the end of the song.

You and Me (But Mostly Me)

Accepting their mission, the duet between Elder Price and Elder Cunningham delves further into the personalities of the unlikely duo. With Elder Price confidently taking the lead, Elder Cunningham loyally vows to be a sidekick and stay out of the way.

Hasa Diga Eebowai

When the Elders finally land in Uganda, they’re met with the harsh realities of life. With mentions of AIDS, famine, and illegal practices, to name a few, the foreign pair are taught a blasphemous Ugandan phrase. The explicit song asks listeners and observers to reserve judgment as they've not had the same incredible hardships as the villagers.

Turn It Off

When the dynamic duo meet the other missionaries stationed in the village, Elder McKinley teaches them to suppress upsetting thoughts, ideas or feelings. 'Turn It Off' is one of the most eye-opening and glittering songs from The Book Of Mormon. With a glitzy tap-dance break, the seemingly light-hearted number feels silly compared with the experiences of the villagers, but with its existential questions, mentions of domestic abuse, and suppression, it’s not as trivial as you would wish it to be.

I Am Here for You

An emotional declaration of loyalty from Elder Cunningham comes in the form of a lullaby. While Elder Price remains focused on numbers and achievements, Elder Cunningham is hoping to be accepted.

All-American Prophet

Confident he can succeed where the other missionaries have failed, Elder Price sings 'All-American Prophet' - a brief history of Joseph Smith and the origins of The Book of Mormon. The tribute to the Mormon icon slowly descends into a celebration of the arrogant Kevin Price, who believes he will become the next All-American prophet.

Sal Tlay Ka Siti

One of the most heart-breaking Book of Mormon songs comes from the innocent, impressionable and optimistic Nabulungi - a young woman from the village. The power ballad laments about Nabulungi’s mother and the comforting stories she used to tell. After speaking to the missionaries, she lists all the simple things she will experience in the magical land of Salt Lake City.

Man Up

The first solo from Elder Cunningham is an inspirational and motivational pep talk to himself at the end of Act One. Abandoned by his partner, Arnold decides it’s time he steps up and leads the charge in attempting to recruit people to the church.
